Port-Louis, Mauritius – Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has officially inaugurated its new Travel Store in Port-Louis, Mauritius, signifying a major step in its commitment to enhancing customer travel experiences. The 1,895 square foot store, located at The Docks 2, United Docks Business Park, Caudan, Port Louis, offers technologically-driven immersive experiences and dedicated on-ground support.

The store was opened by Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, alongside the Honourable Shakeel Mohamed, Minister of Housing and Lands, and Saeed Mohamed Saeed Baomran, Acting Head of Mission, Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, among other dignitaries.

At the ceremony, Emirates also renewed its long-standing partnership with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration, building on 13 years of joint efforts, aims to further promote tourism to the island nation globally.

Adnan Kazim stated, “We have been operating in Mauritius for 23 years, and launching our travel store demonstrates our commitment to growing our presence on the island nation. Our staff is trained to offer personalised service, enhancing the customer experience at every stage.”

The Emirates Travel Store allows customers to explore inflight products and destinations, plan trips, book tickets, manage preferences, and inquire about Emirates and the Skywards loyalty program. It also features self-service kiosks, a selfie mirror with popular Emirates backdrops, and exclusive Emirates-branded merchandise.

Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, Emirates’ Senior Vice President, Commercial West Asia & Indian Ocean, highlighted the airline’s role in bringing holidaymakers to Mauritius since 2002, with double daily A380 services significantly contributing to the country’s tourism growth.

The Minister of Tourism, The Honourable Richard Duval, expressed delight at renewing the partnership, emphasizing its pivotal role in positioning Mauritius as a world-class tourism destination and increasing connectivity in key markets. Claire Le Lay, Chairperson of the MTPA, noted that Emirates’ connectivity through Dubai has fostered strong growth from markets like the Middle East and Europe.

Emirates currently operates two direct daily flights to Mauritius, both utilizing its flagship A380 aircraft. Recently, to celebrate Mauritius’ 57th Independence Day, Emirates operated an A380 flight with an all-Mauritian crew, underscoring the nation’s importance to the airline’s network.
